Foundations of Somatic Consent
Facilitator &
ConsentLab Facilitation

Guide people into the embodiment of Somatic Consent: making empowered choices and communicating consent.

With these foundational teachings, you will guide participants into the base of Somatic Consent. The main focus will be to activate their hands, improve the quality of their touch, explore consensual touch, and learn how to separate doing from giving and discover deeper layers of receiving. This certification enables you to teach people how to embody the Somatic Consent Engagement System.

Format

Learn how to teach a 2 – 3 day workshop or a live online training

In the certification training, you learn a step-by-step process for facilitating the Foundations of Somatic Consent, either as an in-person workshop or an online training.

You will gain full access to all teaching materials and the curriculum, including maps, videos and  interactive games and exercises, which you can offer to help your participants learn in an easy, playful, and conscious way.

These exercises can then be taken outside of the course structure and applied in their personal life.

The Foundations of Somatic Consent is a workshop suitable for complete beginners – participants don’t need prior experience.

Learn how to skilfully and effectively teach:

Practice making requests based on the Somatic Consent Egagement System and create a transformative community based on consent.

What is a ConsentLab Facilitation?

ConsentLab is an experiential play space to practice the dynamics taught Somatic Consent.  It is a evening workshop starting with an introduction and consent games, and finishing with the Lab itself, which is a guided circle structure where people make requests based on consent and agreements.

What happens in a ConsentLab?

The introduction is a playful and fun way to get to know each other. In preparation for the Lab, participants learn the consent dynamics and communication tools for expressing limits and desires.

In the Lab itself, we sit in a circle and practice making real requests. This anchors an understanding of the power of desire and value of limits when making agreements. It is important that everyone takes responsibility for themselves, both in making a request and responding to a request.

For example, if you would like to receive a back massage for 10 minutes, you express your desire and make a request to a person of your choice: “will you massage my back for 10 minutes?” If the other person is willing to do so, you both go to the side of the circle and carry out the agreement, not more than that, but maybe less if one of you chooses to. After the agreed time is over, you both come back to the circle and continue to make or receive requests.

We complete the workshop with a closing circle for people to reflect on the experience and talk about what they discovered about themselves.

Important Information

This is a safe and confidential sexpositive Space.

There can be nudity, sensual and sexual dynamics in the room during the Lab. Nobody has to participate in anything but people do have to be ok with others following their own desires in a consensual way.
For those who choose to participate and respond positively to a request, they will be able to do so from an empowered place.
